PEACE Academy Expansion Opens New Opportunities for Students

PEACE Academy recently celebrated the completion of its newest campus expansion in Decatur, Georgia, marking an important milestone in the school's continued growth. Students, families, educators, and community partners gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony recognizing the completion of the project and the opportunities it will create for current and future students.

As Georgia's only Afrocentric charter school, PEACE Academy is dedicated to providing an educational environment that affirms identity, celebrates culture, and supports student achievement. To accommodate continued enrollment growth, the project transformed previously vacant adjacent space into new learning and support environments, including middle school classrooms, a cafeteria, kitchen, physical education space, and upgraded building systems.

The expansion demonstrates the potential of adaptive reuse to create meaningful educational opportunities while maximizing existing resources. By repurposing adjacent space, the project provides a flexible and future-ready environment that supports the school's mission and long-term vision while creating additional capacity for the students and families it serves.
