Since joining the firm 10 years ago, Alex Lopez, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP has become an essential member of our team and has been promoted to Associate Vice President. With over 20 years of experience, he has provided exceptional design and client management skills for the development of a multitude of educational projects. His passion, talent, and commitment have made him one of Cordogan Clark’s design leaders. Alex’s extensive experience in Higher Education, High School, Elementary, and Auditorium Theater design continues to keep the Cordogan Clark Group at the forefront of education design. He most recently led the design and development of the awardwinning Hinsdale Middle School in Hinsdale, Illinois.

Alex is very involved in the community. He serves on the Board of Directors of AIA Northeast Illinois, Board of Directors of Invest Aurora, Commissioner of the City of Elgin Planning & Zoning Board, and is serving a four-year term as a Trustee in Elgin Township as an elected official.

Alex and his wife Carli are proud parents of daughter Abigail, a junior at Illinois State University; and son Elijah, a sophomore at Northwestern University. Alex is an avid SCUBA diver and cross-country motorcycle enthusiast.
