The vision of Florida's Turnpike Enterprise is to develop roadside amenities for travelers in central Florida. Located 10 miles outside of the Kissimmee Area, the 450 acre site welcomes travelers and locals alike. The Gateway Center welcomes visitors to the gateway complex and acclimates them to the area's attractions. The Gateway Hotel and Conference Center accommodates business and leisure. Large and small retail, a performing arts venue, parks, and four sit down type restaurants make this site a destination itself.

Unique natural features of the Florida landscape drive the design. Indigenous plants and flowers highlight garden and park areas while balancing with the surrounding ecosystem. At the Gateway Center, sun screens are positioned to block the harsh Florida sun and maintain environmentally friendly interior ambient temperatures, while allowing views to and from the facility. Water retention ponds are designed to be beautiful landscape features that help control the immense amount of ground water typical to the region.

Cordogan, Clark and Associates teamed with Wilton Partners to win this National Design/Development Competition. Ground- breaking is scheduled for 2007.
