Oak Brook Bank

Bolingbrook, Illinois

Oak Brook Bank of Bolingbrook conveys a strong civic presence much greater than the scale of this facility would suggest. The design of this banking facility is an update of traditional civic and bank architecture. The architectural language used here is reminiscent of early Prairie Style banks designed by Louis Sullivan. This language generalized and adapted to current technology. It creates a strong, recognizable public presence for the bank. Oak Brook Bank decided that many of the patrons that this new branch bank serves in the Bolingbrook community are more familiar with traditional urban bank architecture.

The interior design, with its marble floors, high-ceilinged lobby, and generous accents of dark green marble and cherry wood on the teller line, check stand, and desks, reinforces the exterior design to convey a sense of financial stability normally associated with a much larger facility
