Citibank FSB

Chicago, Illinois

Cordogan, Clark and Associates was retained by Citibank, FSB to coordinate and administer the rapid expansion of the nation's largest corporations into the Chicago consumer market. Our responsibilities included the development of prototypical building designs and standard documentation and drawings. The branch prototypes were designed to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective methods and means of construction while accommodating unique client requirements. After initial prototypes were developed, we developed and administered specific projects.

Working together with Citibank staff, Cordogan, Clark and Associates designed Citibank branch bank prototypes with service and high-impact graphics in mind, in which architecture strongly reinforces the marketing message. The wedge-shaped drive-through canopy introduces a diagonal axis that is carried through the entire building from the point of entry, establishing a dynamic internal geometry, which is used to direct customers towards the highest-yield service representatives. There is minimum obstruction between banking personnel and the patron. Angled displays create secondary sight lines toward the centrally located sales information center while curving transitional elements help draw the customer into the branch from the lobby.
